My journey into the world of skincare was born from my own personal search for products that worked. I’ve always struggled with acne breakouts, and I was tired of complicated routines and harsh ingredients that promised the world but left my skin feeling irritated. I knew there had to be a better way. As someone who has always preferred gentle, hydrating, and organic skincare, I decided to create it myself.
As a child, I was always interested in science and chemistry, and I excelled in those subjects during my school years. At home I was always busy making all sorts of concoctions, much to my mom’s amusement, but also annoyance because of the mess I made.
As a young adult, I became interested in natural health care. I researched plants and their amazing benefits. We did not have the internet then, and so the library became my favourite place. I started purchasing natural health care books as much as I could afford and studied them all. My children were raised by these principles and today they share my passion for all things natural.
One day I was chatting to my friend, who is a doctor in natural medicine, and she remarked that it was very disconcerting how the breast cancer rates have been rising. From my own conversations with clients, being a practitioner doing body work, I knew this statement of hers to be true. At that point I had already done quite extensive research on the dangers of heavy metals in the human body, of which aluminium was one, and knew that it was used in antiperspirants to block sweat. I had already began formulating my own natural deodorant, but it had to be effective, not like some products out there that don’t do anything for odour or burn your armpits by upsetting the armpit’s microbiome by using high alkaline baking soda.
I decided to test my deodorant formula and after a trial and positive feedback that there were no rashes, itching or burning, I tweaked the formula to be strong enough to ward off odour to keep one fresh all day long. At this point my doctor friend asked me if I would be able to formulate other face and body care products for her cancer patients. I didn’t need much prompting and Amaskin Natural was born. Yes, the journey to put Amaskin Natural products on the market has been quite a hectic one, but a rewarding experience, nonetheless.
At Amaskin Natural, we keep things simple, honest, and close to nature. We believe in a minimalist approach, and that real results come from thoughtful, plant-powered formulas—backed by science and crafted with care.
